Our Story

I started my cloth diapering journey long before making cloth diapers ever crossed my mind. I was a second time mom, looking for the ultimate diaper, dreaming of all the perfect features rolled into one. I had tried many brands and knew exactly what I wanted in a diaper, but that diaper didn’t exist. I sketched out my design and began working towards making my dream a reality. I’ll admit that the whole process of designing a diaper (researching, contacting, and interviewing manufactures) was very intimidating. I worked hard to find a factory that is certified and has fair labor practices.

All Lalabye Baby diapers pass rigorous testing required by CPSIA and are made with high quality materials. Communicating with the factory to get every last measurement and feature included in my diaper design the way I had envisioned it was challenging, but the end result was worth it! I had help with my design process not only from friends and family but from cloth diaper retailers, other cloth diapering moms, and a professional seamstress. (Did you know I don't sew? I'm an interior designer!)

Every feature of my diaper has been carefully thought out, tested by real customers, and redesigned when needed to reflect the changes requested during customer feedback. We continually strive to bring you the best products to make your cloth diapering journey a success!

Lalabye Baby is a small, family-run business, and everyone in my family has contributed to the success of our small business. The name “Lalabye” was inspired by my daughter Leah; she used to call herself Lala. Every single order that goes out to you through our website or out to our retailers is inspected, packed, and shipped by me. My husband, with his background in tech support and business, keeps our website running smoothly. My kids were my inspiration and motivation, my testers, and continue to be my little helpers. Most importantly, I have had a lot of support from my family and friends. Without them, Lalabye Baby wouldn't exist.

Lalabye Baby is a modern cloth diapering company dreamed up by a mom with a vision! Desiring to combine a love for cloth diapers and a passion for design, Lalabye Baby was created to provide a high quality, safe, eco-friendly diaper at an affordable price. Along with our diapers, we hope to bring an awareness to the alarming amount of waste being produced by disposable diapers. Cloth diapering doesn't have to be all or nothing; part time cloth diapering also helps keep disposables out of landfills and our oceans! We're here to support you on your cloth diapering journey on whatever path that takes!

Lalabye Baby allows you to cloth diaper the modern way! No more pins or rubber pants, modern cloth diapers are adjustable by snaps to fit from birth through potty training (8-35 lbs); you buy once and never need to size up! Soft, breathable, and super absorbent rayon from bamboo inserts and gentle elastics at the back and leg gussets keep baby's mess contained until it's time to change. Trim, soft TPU (water resistant) fabric in vibrant colors and fun prints make diaper changes fun and easy to match to baby's outfit. Simply rinse solids into the toilet, and wash and use again and again!

We started our business selling our signature One Size Cloth Diapers: a one size, hybrid 2 in 1 cloth diapering system that can be used as a pocket diaper (stuff the inserts inside the stay dry pocket) or an All in Two (snap the inserts on top)! We have expanded our cloth diaper options over the past 9 years, and we now also offer cloth diaper covers- works with our bamboo snap in inserts or over Lala Lu Fitteds, prefolds, or flats; and newborn sized cloth diapers- featuring aplix closures and a smaller size to make changes on babies 5 to 12 +/- lbs easier. We also now offer five sizes of wet/dry bags, changing mats, pail liners, bibs, and bamboo cloth wipes! We have everything you need to start cloth diapering in one place!

All of our products are designed in the USA and manufactured responsibly in China. Utilizing our global resources, we custom create and design our diapers with your baby (and ours) in mind. We support a local artist as our exclusive print designer, and we employ stay-at-home moms who use our products.
